If you are a person who is prone to excess heat in your body and mind, this practice is for you. Excess heat can manifest as any type of inflammation, skin problems, eye problems and liver/blood issues. If you tend towards anger when subjected to stress, this power practice is your ally.

Heat can either tear your system apart, or it can make you among the brightest beings on the planet. If you’re a hot natured person, the question is not whether you’re going to have great heat, the question is in which form will that heat express itself. Even if you’re not a ‘pitta’ type person, use this kriya throughout the summer, and especially at the end of the summer when heat has reached its peak accumulation.

(Guidelines for Women: Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerful engage the navel center like Stretch Pose or Sat Kriya.
