This Power Practice is an incredible aid to keep in your yogic toolkit at all times. Please watch the introduction video first, and then we’ve provided the practice in both an 11 minute and 3-minute version.
There is another important element of this Power Practice to take note of. If you are a Vata constitution, this practice should be your close ally. You can use it every day to maintain the health of your entire body/mind. Therefore, if you’re someone who tends towards worry, anxiety, insecurity and mental restlessness…this Power Practice is gold for you. Furthermore, everyone will benefit from this kriya throughout the winter season, or anytime you feel that you need it. These are general recommendations using Ayurvedic wisdom. This kriya can be used by anyone at any time based on your own intuitive guidance.

[Guidelines for Women: Women who are menstruating (on the first 3 days of the cycle) or are pregnant should avoid breath of fire and other exercises that powerful engage the navel center like Stretch Pose or Sat Kriya. Inverted poses where the legs are lifted higher then the naval point should also be avoided. Long deep breathing can be done in the place of breath of fire. Resting in childs pose or savasana, during poses like stretch pose, is also encouraged.
